PixelDrop Open PixelDrop

Why PixelDrop exists

Your files, your storage. PixelDrop is a small, independent place to keep your files, share them with people you choose, and back up your computer — without ads, without a public marketplace, and without a middleman deciding who sees what.

The idea

Most cloud storage today is built around the company's needs: your files become a way to sell you more services, show you ads, or lock you into one ecosystem. PixelDrop starts from the opposite question: what would storage look like if it simply worked for the person who owns the files?

The answer we built is short: you get your own space — free to start, no limit at all once you connect your own Pixeldrain account — you decide who can receive a file, and the things that matter most to you can be locked so that only you can open them.

What we stand for

You own your files
What you upload is yours. We store it and deliver it where you tell us to — nothing more. There are no ads and we don't sell your data.
Sharing on your terms
Nothing is public by default. You share with contacts you add, and they don't even need an account to download.
Privacy that's real, and honestly described
TimeVault backups are encrypted on your own computer with a key only you hold — neither PixelDrop nor our storage partner can read them. For files you upload by hand, we tell you plainly where they're stored and who could technically reach them (see the Privacy Policy).
Simple, fair payments
Start free, with no storage limit at all once you connect your own Pixeldrain account. If you want to share files by link, automatic backups, the ability to receive files from anyone with no account needed and connected apps such as PhoenixMail, Membre is $45 a year — free for your first 15 days — with PayPal or with NIM, a cryptocurrency that lets you pay without a bank. No surprises.
Independence
PixelDrop is run by a single operator, not a big company. We prefer open and independent tools, and we'd rather do a few things well than many things badly.

How it works, in three lines

  1. Your files are kept with Pixeldrain, our storage partner — connect your own Pixeldrain account in Settings for no storage limit at all; PixelDrop looks after your account, your contacts and your sharing.
  2. TimeVault, included with Membre, backs up folders from your computer automatically — locked on your computer first.
  3. You can install PixelDrop like an app on your phone or computer and send photos to it straight from your phone's Share menu (Android).
